About DA

“Will I see you tonight
On a downtown train?
All of my dreams just fall like rain
Oh, baby, on a downtown train”

– Tom Waits, Downtown Train (Rain Dogs, 1985)

Hey there,

Welcome to Downtown Archive. Here, we preserve urban memories from all over the world.

The purpose of starting DA was from the acknowledgement that there is a loneliness hovering over every city. There are tired voices in every alley and balcony unsure of being heard. And at DA, we encourage them poets to manifest their melancholy.

Being a multicultural platform, we love language and culture. So your musings can be in any language you prefer, and we will safekeep them, accordingly.

So send us away your urban reveries before you miss the downtown train!
