Sand Castle

On a quiet night,
Suddenly I woke up.
A thunderstorm soundless
to others but not to me,
goes through inside.

I can see the lightning and
hear the sound of it within me.

Many questions cloud my mind –
Who am I? Why am I living?
What is the truth? What is karma?
Does God exist? If so, then does
S/He even care about me?

I stay up all night seeking for
my answers.
My life seems meaningless
to me.

I am living the same life everyday.
It’s like I have been making a sand castle,
breaking it afterwards and starting
over again for eternity.

The night ends.
I find myself lost.

In the morning, I suddenly see
a golden bird flying away with
a silver cloud above it.

Suddenly in a flash of a moment,
I find back my long lost hope.

I am starting to make The Sand Castle
again because now I know that
to make failed attempts to make
the meaningless life meaningful –
is the true beauty of life.

Now I know who I am, now I know,
what is my purpose, now I know,
my destiny.
