Her Secret Meadow

The ray peeks through the window,
Creeping slowly, and bathing her lush skin
Lines form across her radiant cheeks,
Back from a faraway dream with a grin.

Having done all her chores for the day,
Her full lips pout, a soft sigh released,
The feline companion desires attention,
Given with much affection, at the very least.

Soft hands grip tightly the basket full of treats,
Making her way towards her sacred place
Glimmer and glow from the morning dew,
Abundant greenery, her very own view awaits.

The aroma from the petals permeates the air,
A soft, light breeze on the nape of her neck,
Entranced by the crystal-clear flowing stream,
Her deep brown eyes create a reflective effect.

The soul with grey areas seeks refuge,
From the long journey she has been through
The vibrant colors of the area shimmers,
Filling the empty void, beginning anew.

As the woodland creatures return home,
And the sun sets with a wonderful display,
Pursuit fulfilled, ribbon tightened, hope rejuvenated,
Her secret expires once again for the day.
